Cost
The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level and upgrade type chosen. For instance upgrading a weapon is typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required for upgrading increases as the item is upgraded to the next level.
Upgraded items will also have improved stats that can improve its performance in a variety of ways. This could mean increasing the power of its attack, critical strike chance, or damage per second. In addition, an upgraded item may be able to offer additional buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to boost the overall strength of a group or individual unit, and could have a significant impact on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded by any item upgrader NPC in the game. Typically, these NPCs are located in major cities or questing areas. Players can also locate item upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses and by chatting with NPCs in their faction's garrisons.
The upgrade system for items in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is very similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency appropriate to the task players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Item upgrades can be expensive, particularly when it comes to weapons and armor. Depending on which upgrade track you choose, each item level increase can cost Valorstones or Crests. The costs can be prohibitive for those who do not have the resources, or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu for items. This option lets you exchange the upgraded item with an equivalent level 1 version of it that has a different set of bonus effects. This is useful to get better rolls on items that have already been upgraded. However, it could also be a waste.
Requirements
The process of upgrading items that are equippable such as weapons, armor and trinkets is to increase the level of the item. This increases their stats and can make them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by spending the appropriate currency at an

Additionally, the upgraded item will get a bonus stat, which is based on the level at which it was purchased. This bonus is a combination of a guarantee extra substat and a random stat that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new version. The new item comes with different set extra bonuses, and is of a lower level for the item. The rerolled item also has different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to keep in mind that the rerolled item does not retain its original level or any of its wasted resources.
Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled if the initial item was a Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Extraordinary items can also be rerolled, but the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version the same type, while rerolling an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same kind.
A newly upgraded item could have extra modifiers, which can increase the stats of the item and enhance its performance. These additional modifiers aren't included in the upgrade cost. They can be acquired through doing quests, purchasing them at the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by fulfilling specific missions in the game.
To upgrade a piece of equipment, visit the NPC [Armoror Boboko located in Central Flarine. Depending on the type of item, you will require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is available from monsters 21+ and Giants and Dice 12 is droppable from Bosses). Additionally, you will require different quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time
Upgrades to items are a method to boost your ship's stats and gear without needing to upgrade them. While upgrading isn't inexpensive, it's an effective way to boost your stats without having to spend a lot of time in battle. It's important to know the cost and benefits prior to investing your money or time.
Each upgrade increases the stats of the item by in a specific amount, and gives the chance to obtain a bonus substat. The random substat could range from a small boost to a much larger boost. Make sure to focus on the stats that perform best in slots first. They will provide a higher returns for your money.
You can check the time required to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting the weapon, ship, or other accessory. The upgrade window will display the estimated completion time and the progress. In some instances you may be capable of speeding the process by using a Glyph.
It is also possible to recover some or all of the upgrade components from an item using a specific high-end salvage kit sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment or upgrades, which can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or recovering them through the appropriate Karma Merchant.
Rewards

By selecting the item and pressing the green button with a an arrow for rerolling, a player can reroll it to create an upgradeable item. This alters the layout of the item's window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced by a level 1 item. Recycled items don't keep their status or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality.
