Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the
Best item upgrader and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options.
